"My journey through the isolating experience of being a single, brown-skinned woman navigating predominantly white spaces, while entering my 50s, inspired me to create Fifty and Unfiltered."
With a background in civil rights compliance, contract compliance, and public administration spanning more than 18 years, I spent my career advocating for others. Now I am advocating for us.
Fifty and Unfiltered exists because Black women over 50 deserve a space that reflects our real lives. Not the sanitized version. The actual truth of what it means to navigate love, loss, health, money, and identity when the world expects us to be invisible.
Here, we are not invisible. We are the whole conversation. We hold each other up and refuse to let anyone rush us through this chapter.
"Your story and your strength matter. And I want to hear it."

Learn About Our Sponsor →Fifty and Unfiltered is made possible through the support of a nonprofit that has been empowering women through community, conversation, and action.
Chat Chew and Do Empowerment Women Group, known as CCDEW, is a Mississippi-based nonprofit organization founded to empower women through community building, honest conversation, and collective action. We believe that when women come together, share their truths, and support one another, they change not just their own lives but the world around them.
CCDEW is the heart behind Fifty and Unfiltered. The same values that drive our community work are the foundation this platform is built on.
We create safe spaces for honest, unfiltered conversation about the issues affecting women's lives today.
We dig into the real issues with depth and substance. Health, relationships, finances, identity.
We move from conversation to action, building programs and resources that create real change for women.
Fifty and Unfiltered represents everything CCDEW stands for. It centers Black women. It refuses to minimize their experiences. It tells the truth about what life after 50 actually looks like, and it builds community around that truth. CCDEW is proud to stand behind every word of it.
CCDEW hosts events, workshops, and community gatherings for women in Mississippi and beyond.
